Cyclone the storm is predicted to strengthen into a rare highest-level hurricane as it turns in the direction of Jamaica, delivering life-threatening flash flooding and rock falls.

The cyclone, which recorded wind speeds of up to 195 km/h as of 6:00 AM GMT, is presently veering northwest in the Caribbean and is projected to hit the coast by midweek, as reported by meteorological authorities.

Warnings of electricity outages and damage to infrastructure have been issued as the hurricane brings up to thirty inches of precipitation and coastal flooding as high as thirteen feet above normal levels. "Take cover without delay," inhabitants have been advised.

The cyclone is the 13th named hurricane in this year's Atlantic season, which normally finishes in late autumn.

A Category 5 cyclone is the most powerful category, with wind speeds of at least 157 miles per hour.

"Yet the optimal approach to handle nervousness and any apprehension and concern is to be prepared."

Residents are being instructed to protect their properties with sandbags and plywood sheets, and to accumulate essentials.

Broader Impact

Advisories are also in effect for parts of the neighboring country encompassing the primary urban center, the adjacent nation and Cuba's eastern region, where this storm is anticipated to bring analogous consequences by the middle of next week.

Landslides currently triggered by the hurricane have caused two deaths in Haiti, according to local authorities.

Projected Trajectory

The hurricane is forecast to pass over the island nation by midweek before moving through the Greater Antilles and entering the Atlantic Ocean.

By the moment it makes contact with the Caribbean nation, it is forecast to have reduced to a Category 3 hurricane.
