Incredible $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a brief run earlier this year, this cartography software collection has returned with an encore available until Dec. 2. Described as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by a specialized software company over the years, the entire collection carries a value of over $1,300. Additionally, there exist multiple package options available here.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is certainly permanent access to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard mapping application that can be used to create everything from fantasy overworld maps, detailed regional charts, urban layouts, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, Urban Source Maps. This package suits existing CC3+ users, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, over twenty-five aerial castle designs with 470 associated map tokens, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-product collection starting at fifteen dollars offers enhanced value by adding in permanent CC3+ access, the first Annual volume, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from the company's ongoing subscription program which includes multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and additional utilities. The Isometric Cities enables present urban areas in 3D perspective using angled views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, especially for cartographers with temporary CC3+ access seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously an even better deal for cartography beginners since it includes introductory guides to facilitate learning. The one caveat here though the purchase is available on any platform, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Philanthropic Aspect

Similar to previous bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief.
